Terminator: Dark Fate. The Age of Gothic Poetry Themes Continues in the newest franchise flick.
Deadline is reporting that Paramount has finally decided on a name installment of the Terminator franchise.
Terminator: Dark Fate. Because: What else?
James Cameron is producing this sequel—which is directed by Tim Miller (The director of the original Deadpool) This one is based on a screenplay written by Josh Friedman, David Goyer, Billy Ray and Justin Rhodes.
After the meh performances of the last film, (despite starring The Khaleesi herself, Emilia Clark) and an all star cast of thousands, Dark Fate will be jumpstarting the original franchise battery with the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton.
Also starring (in the 70s era credits star of ‘also starring’) in the film will be the familiar Terminator vets. Gabriel Luna, Mackenzie Davis, Diego Boneta, Natalia Reyes, Brett Azar, and Steven Cree are all coming back for the film.
Dark Fate is apparently taking cues from the Spiderman multi franchiseverse and will be the first in a new, new trilogy for the series.
Timeline wise, its written to be a direct follow-up to Terminator 2: Judgement Day in order to clear up the jumbled and apparently contradictory storyline.
Which: no shit guys.
And makes the reappearance of Schwarzenegger and Hamilton make even more sense. They will have to bring on the gravitas in order to make a previous storyline disconnect make sense. And it seems to be a comforting indication that they arent just going to press the magic reset button or Bobby Ewing Dallas Dream Sequence their way out of it.
The poster does look a little gothy emo. With the title its like a fever dream from a 17 year old gothgirls best dystopian get back fantasy.
The film is set to be released on November 1st
